Layers: The main background image is from an ice storm we encountered on our way home from Ottawa in the early spring one year. The bubble images are ones that I took in our living room (having pushed all of the furniture out of the way so it didn’t show in the reflection; what does show are the living room windows). Within the bubbles are parts of a stunning magnolia tree in bloom, which I photographed during an artist residency on Toronto Island in the spring of 2025. There’s an image of magical golden sparkle from an orgonite pyramid, as well as flakes of imitation gold applied to the finished piece, in between coats of varnish.
