Layers: The main background image is a rock wall with mineral deposits, found while hiking up a dormant volcano on the island of Faial in the Azores. Layered over that are three images of three different types of lichen, all from Nova Scotia. The trees are from an area which had experienced two forest fires the previous year, near my moms’ place in Nova Scotia. Part of my "Pheonix" series, exploring the idea of growth that comes after disaster.
